Clarence H. Metzger was born in Georgetown, Ohio, on 10 July 1905. A Shop Clerk by occupation, living in Toledo, Ohio, he entered into the U.S. Army at Detroit, Michigan, on 31 March 1942. He was employed as an Administrative N.C.O. and served in the Bismarck Archipelago, the Western Pacific, Southern Philippines, Luzon, and in China.
