An original Napoleonic discharge certificate appertaining to Chasseur Francois Savan of the 24th Regiment of Light Infantry, with brief details of service and gratuities payable on the occasion of him being invalided in May 1814, including funds ‘for a driver at departure’, bearing several signatures and two official stamps, foxing, somewhat frayed, but generally in good condition and unusual £40-60

Francois Savan, who was born in the Ardennes in September 1790, served in the 1st Company of the 5th Battalion, 24th Regiment of Light Infantry from April 1813 to May 1814, in which latter month he was discharged due to invalidity.
