I.S.M. London Gazette 15 July 1927. ‘Gaoler, Penang Prison, Straits Settlements’.

In civilian life, Andrew Douglas Livingstone was employed in the Straits Settlements Prison Service, being awarded the I.S.M. for his services in 1927. He also served in the Volunteers and was awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal for service with the Malacca Volunteer Rifles. The award cannot be traced in the gazette but is recorded in A History of the Singapore Volunteer Corps, by Captain T. M. Winsley. With copied research.
