Willy Benbow Reynolds was employed on the Indian Railways for many years. In 1882 he was an Assistant Locomotive Superintendent of the Rangoon and Sittang Valley Railway; the following year he was with the Rajputana and Malwa State Railway, part of the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway. In 1884 he was District Locomotive Superintendent and in 1904 Locomotive and Carriage Superintendent of the South Indian Railway.

He was granted a commission as a Lieutenant in the Bombay, Baroda & Central India Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps on 12 April 1883, and was advanced to Captain in April 1885. In 1887 he was shown as serving with the 2nd Battalion of the unit, this known as the Rajputana-Malwa Volunteer Rifle Corps. He was promoted to Major in March 1899 and was awarded the Indian Volunteer Force Officers’ Decoration, this published in General Order No. 950 of October 1902. Major Reynolds, V.D., was placed on the Supplementary List on 1 June 1903. In August the same year, he was appointed a Major in the South Indian Railway Volunteers based at Negapatam. In 1908 he retired and was granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Sold with copied research.
