Sergeant Maurice Leopold Chavez, British Honduras Defence Force, was awarded the Efficiency Medal, this published in the British Honduras Government Gazette of 7 December 1940. He was awarded the Efficiency Medal (Territorial) rather than the Efficiency Medal (British Honduras) probably because the latter suspension had not yet been struck by the Royal Mint. He was also awarded the War Medal 1939-45, his name appearing in the British Honduras Gazette of 13 August 1949 which listed those so entitled. After the War Chavez was employed in the Prison Department serving as Chief Officer. He was awarded the Colonial Prison Service L.S. Medal, this published in the British Honduras Government Gazette of 11 May 1957. Sold with copied research.
