A rare North West Frontier 1930-31 operations M.C. group of four awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel H. F. McIntyre, Indian Army, who was serving in the 2-17th Dogra Regiment at the time of winning his decoration

Just three M.Cs were gazetted in 1932 for operations on the North West Frontier - British Gallantry Awards, by Abbott & Tamplin, refers.

M.C. London Gazette 6 May 1932:

For distinguished services rendered in the Field in connection with military operations on the North West Frontier of India during the period October 1930 to March 1931.’

Henry Finch McIntyre, who was born in India in November 1898, was first commissioned on the Unattached List in June 1917, but gained an appointment in the 17th Dogra Regiment in the same month, with whom he quickly witnessed active service in Aden from October 1917 to February 1918, and thereafter, until the War’s end, with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force.

Advanced to Captain in June 1921, he was still serving in the 17th Dogras in 1930, and won his M.C. for gallant deeds with the 2nd Battalion. Having then been advanced to Major in June 1935, he served on the Staff, and attained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Second World War, during which he witnessed active service in Abyssinia 1940-41 and in Burma in 1942. He is believed to have served on attachment to the Pakistan Army in 1948-49, prior to his retirement.
