Sinclair Robert Grant Scott was born on 11 September 1904, and joined the Army in 1924. He earned the Mohmand clasp as a Company Officer, 5th Field Company, Bengal Sappers & Miners, and was Officer Commanding this unit in the 1935 operations on the North West Frontier at Nowshera and in the Nowshera Column (despatches London Gazette 8 May 1936). The award of the Bronze Star was announced in the London Gazette of 14 November 1947.
