Christopher Morrison was killed at sea when H.M. Trawler Kingston Galena, armed with one 4-inch gun, was attacked by German aircraft and, despite stubborn resistance, was sunk when one of the attacking aircraft scored a direct hit with a bomb amidships of the trawler, which sank immediately with the loss of all hands. He is commemorated on the Lowestoft Naval Memorial.
