Lieutenant Henry Scott Newman was commissioned into the 5th battalion, Welch Regiment from the ranks of the 2/3rd London Regiment on 31 May 1916, and seconded to the Royal Air Force on 17 January 1918. He served with No. 14 Squadron in Palestine where he was wounded on 28 April 1918, subsequently spending four months convalescing at No. 19 General Hospital, Alexandria. Newman relinquished his commission on 30 September 1921. Sold with 8 copied pages of research detail.
