Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, V.R., small letter reverse (2306 Cr. Serjt. John Dysart, 93rd Foot) very fine £50-60

John Dysart was born in Maybole, Ayrshire, and enlisted for the 93rd Foot at Glasgow on 23 March 1848. He served in the Crimea at the battles of Alma, Balaklava and siege of Sebastopol; and in the Indian Mutiny at the capture of Lucknow. He was severely wounded through both thighs by a musket ball on 11 March 1858 at Lucknow.
