Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, V.R., large letter reverse (John Cameron, 93rd Regiment Foot. 1843) fitted with replacement steel clip and ring suspension, considerable edge bruising, otherwise nearly very fine £80-100

John Cameron was born at Athol, near Perth, and enlisted in the 93rd at Perth on 7 August 1822 at the age of 18. He served 10 years in the West Indies and 5 in North America. He was a Corporal from December 1827 till April 1828 when he was reduced to the ranks and was discharged at Chatham in August 1843, as medically unfit, having been sent home from Canada. Sold with copy service papers.
