D.C.M. London Gazette 1 January 1917, citation London Gazette 13 February 1917: ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has performed consistent good work throughout the campaign as a stretcher-bearer. He has on many occasions tended the wounded under heavy fire.’
