Richard Moore Barnes served in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, including the battles of Moodkee and Ferozeshuhur, where he was severely wounded (Medal and clasp). He served also during the latter part of the siege of Sebastopol (Medal and clasp, and Turkish Medal).
