A total of approximately 204 medals awarded to the Police Ambulance Service for the 1902 Coronation. Sergeant Ames served in “D” Company, Police Ambulance Service, Folkestone, one of only nine men from the 1st Volunteer Battalion to receive the Coronation medal. Sergeant Ames was also a champion shot.
