M.M. London Gazette 16 August 1917 (France & Flanders).

Frank Cecil Moorcock enlisted on 8 September 1914, aged 34 years. His M.M. was presented by his Corps Commander on 3 July 1917 for his services with “D” Company, 1st Buffs, on 23 June 1917. On this date a party of eight officers led “C” and “D” Coys on a large-scale trench raid in the Hulluch sector. The Buffs attacked in three waves, one party remaining in the enemy lines for three and a half hours. The unit took 15 prisoners and 2 trench mortars but suffered 9 killed, 69 wounded and 19 missing.
