D.C.M. London Gazette 30 June 1915: ‘For conspicuous gallantry displayed near Ypres on the night of 15th-16th February, 1915, during the re-capture of a trench. Also on 13th April, 1915, for advancing single-handed along a sap, and bombing a German barricade.’
