M.C. London Gazette 18 July 1917: ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. After his company had reached their objective he led a bombing attack to his flank against two enemy machine guns. His prompt action resulted in the destruction of the machine gun and the taking of forty prisoners.’

Harold Lisle Morley served in the ranks of the Royal Fusiliers and served in France with the 18th Battalion from 14 November 1915. He was commissioned into the East Kent Regiment on 25 September 1916.
