Case No. 18,929. Sub-Lieut. A. C. T. Bruce, R.N., H.M.S. Hercules, and six others, saved the life of Francis Moran, Engine Fitter, H.M.S. Hercules, from the river Mersey, Liverpool, on 24th June 1872. Moran fell overboard and all seven jumped overboard and helped to support the man until taken into a boat and removed to H.M.S. Hercules. Bronze Medals (successful) to all seven.
