An extremelely rare Q.S.A. in bronze awarded to Mr E. Oakley, who served during the Boer War as Civilian Servant to Lieutenant The Honourable Hugh Robertson, 1st Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry and 14th Hussars

bronze issue, no clasp (Mr E. Oakley) nearly extremely fine £500-600

The name of Mr E. Oakley appears on the medal roll of the 1st battalion, Imperial Yeomanry as being entitled to the Q.S.A. in bronze; for his services as civillian servant to Lieutenant The Honourable Hugh Robertson. Sold with a copy of an in depth article written by Jack Webb on the issuance of the Q.S.A., in bronze to Europeans, published in the O.M.R.S. Journal, Summer 1981.

Lieutenant The Honourable Hugh Robertson was killed on 1 February 1901, the result of an accident at Johannesburg whilst serving with the 14th Hussars.
