Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Serjt. J. Brannan, 17th Lancers) contemporary engraved naming, edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine £800-1000

James Brennan enlisted c. 1840 and was discharged as a Sergeant on 20 October 1859. He is entitled to the Crimea Medal with 4 clasps and the Indian Mutiny Medal for Central India. Brennan’s name is included in the 1877 list of members of the Balaklava Commemoration Society but not in the 1879 revised list. However, he did attend the Annual Dinner on 25 October 1890. An engraved medal was sold at Glendining’s on 23 May 1911 and a re-impressed one sold on 17 December 1930.
