Military Cross, G.V.R., reverse inscribed, ‘Lt. Col. E. M. Allen’; British War and Victory Medals (Lt. Col.) mounted as worn, contained in case, lid bearing the initials, ‘E.M.A.’, very fine (3) £800-900

Ernest Mortimer Allen entered the France/Flanders theatre of war as a Lieutenant in the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, on 3 March 1916. He was wounded in action when serving with the Battalion during the battle of the Somme (Regimental History refers).
