Seven: Captain Charles Frederick Spencer Chichester, Royal Engineers, late 4th Hussars

1914-15 Star (2 Lieut., 4/Hrs.); British War and Victory Medals (Lieut.); Defence and War Medals; Coronation 1937, these unnamed; Romania, Order of the Star, 1st type, 5th Class breast badge with swords, silver, silver-gilt and enamel, mounted for wear, in Spink, London leather case, the lid bearing the initials ‘C.F.S.C.’; together with a loose Romanian Commemorative War Cross 1916-18; with a mounted set of seven miniature dress medals, in a Spink, London leather case with lid similarly inscribed, good very fine and better (15) £250-300

Charles Frederick Spencer Chichester was born on 18 January 1893 and educated at Winchester College, 1907-10. Appointed Assistant Military Attache at Bucharest, Romania on 6 June 1919. Awarded the Order of the Star 5th Class in 1920. From the Reserve of Officers he served as a Lieutenant with the 4th Hussars, September 1939-July 1940. He served as Captain, Officer Commanding No. 1 Traffic Control Company, Royal Engineers, July 1940-July 1942, and Staff Captain, ‘Q’ Movements, Royal Engineers, H.Q. Southern Command, July 1942-November 1945. With some copied research.
