Anthony Jenkins was born in St. Mowen, near St. Austell, Cornwall. A Labourer by occupation, he enlisted at Chelmsford, Essex, on 4 April 1809. Serving 13 years, 223 days, he saw action in the Peninsula War, 1812-14 and later served in the West Indies, 1817-21. Having attained the rank of Colour-Sergeant he was discharged at Dublin on 1 December 1822. With some copied service details.
