Three: Gunner Charles Lyon, Royal Field Artiilery

Charles William Lyon was born at 11 Joiners Row, Boston, Lincolnshire, on 17 September 1890. A labourer by occupation and having previously been unsuccessful in joining the Army, he successfully attested for service in the Army Special Reserve at Kings Lynn, on 28 May 1908. As a Gunner with the Royal Field Artillery he served in France/Flanders, 16 August 1914-22 August 1918 and 7 September 1918-17 May 1919. Transferred to the Army Reserve in June 1919, he was discharged on 2 October 1920. With copied service papers, m.i.c. and associated birth, marriage and death certificates. Clasp confirmed.
