Estimate: £40–£60

Norway, Figure of Norway, c. 1895, a resin medallic roundel by T. Skogen, 1968, of the design for the rev. of an uncompleted medal by I. Throndsen, the brothers Cleobis and Bito pulling their mother Kydippe in a car towards the Temple in Argos, 277mm. As made £40-60

The design was intended to be a common reverse for medals honouring the writers Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906) and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson (1832-1910). It is intended to represent Ibsen and Bjørnson pulling the figure of Norway, thus symbolising their achievements
