Five Pounds, 10 September 1818, no. 84/408, signed by John Telford, various annotations on back, cancelled with X across front and large handwritten ‘Paid’ in centre (Douglas 1). Worn edges, small holes in body and a 10mm tear in right edge, otherwise very good to about fine, scarce £450-500

The bank failed in 1826 but its creditors were eventually paid in full
