DH 42 variant only illustrated. The second item in the lot, with all the striking characteristics and weaknesses of the piece illustrated by Dalton and Hamer as DH 12, was ascribed by its late owner as such. However, it seems unlikely that DH 12 exists: the catalogue illustration clearly demonstrates the presence of the last letter n in provision and in all other respects it is from the same dies as DH 13
