British War Medal 1914-20 (2) (F.37861 J. de W. Hamley, Act. A.M. 1, R.N.A.S.; 36986 Pte. M. Hamley, North.n. R.) first with slack suspension; Coronation 1911, St. John Ambulance Brigade (Pte. J. D. Hamley) edge bruise; together with a miniature dress medal, unnamed; Masonic Charity Medal, gilt metal, glazed, with silver-gilt band inscribed, ‘Bro. E. B. Hamley served as Steward R.M.B.I. 1977. R.M.I.G. 1978’, in plastic wallet, good very fine and better (9) £180-220

The South Eastern & Chatham Railway Medal was instituted in 1909, first issued in 1910 and was discontinued in 1922 when the railway was merged with the Southern Railway.

Ernest B. Hamley served in the 19th South Lambeth Boy Scout Troop for six years, latterly as a Patrol Leader, prior to joining the Rover Scouts in July 1944. Serving in the Army, 1944-48, he trained as a Clerk 3rd Class and attained the rank of Orderly Room Sergeant. Sold with several documents of ‘Boy Scout Association’ interest:- Boy Scout Membership Card and Record of Progress; three badge certificates, and Rover Scout Membership Card.
