Richard Ansell was born in Limehouse, Middlesex and enlisted at Poplar. Serving with the 2nd Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 30 June 1915. He died of wounds on 23 July 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Sold with copied m.i.c.
