St. George Medal for Bravery London Gazette 25 August 1915. ‘... for gallantry and distinguished service in the field’.

Private Herert G. Green, 19th Hussars, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 23 August 1914. With them he was awarded the Russian St. George Medal for Bravery. He was posted to the Machine Gun Corps on 17 May 1916 and was subsequently posted to the Reserve Cavalry Regiment.
