4624 Private E. Boyle, 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, served in the Sudan campaign, 1896-98 and was awarded the Queen’s Medal and Khedive’s Medal with clasp for Khartoum. Serving in the Boer War with the 1st Battalion, he was killed in action at Elandslaagte, near Klerksdorp, on 25 February 1902. He was awarded the Queen’s Medal with clasps for Belmont, Modder River, Orange Free State, Transvaal, and the King’s Medal with two clasps. Sold with copied roll extracts.
