Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 7 clasps, Belmont, Modder River, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast (10083 Pte. W. Bull, R.M. H.M.S. Monarch) large impressed naming, edge bruise, otherwise very fine and better £1000-1200

William Bull was born at Christchurch, Burton on Trent, on 29 October 1879. He enlisted for the Royal Marines in London on 19 November 1897 and served as a Private in the Chatham Division. He served as a member of Monarch’s naval brigade ‘landed on active service against the South African Republic’ from 21 October 1899 to 12 October 1900, and is listed on the casualty returns as having been wounded at Graspan (Enslin) on 25 November 1899. Returning to England aboard the S.S. Lake Eyrie in October 1900, he was discharged on payment of £20 on 10 July 1901. Sold with copy service record.
