Henry Storie was born at Grey Friars, Edinburgh, and enlisted into the Rifle Brigade at Edinburgh in March 1855, aged 17 years. In December 1856 he was transferred to the 62nd Regiment and thence to the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in September 1857. With the battalion he was posted to India in early 1858 and during the supression of the Indian Mutiny was based at Arrah (medal without clasp). Then posted to Hong Kong in 1860-61, after which he returned to service in England and Ireland, 1861-66. After further service in India, 1867-74, Storie was discharged on 10 August 1875 as being unfit for further service. At the time of his discharge he held four Good Conduct Badges. His sole medallic award was the Indian Mutiny Medal. Sold with a quantity of copied research.
