Military General Service 1793-1814, 6 clasps, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, Toulouse (Thos. Leonard, 87th Foot) light contact marks, very fine £1400-1600

Thomas Leonard was born in the Parish of Bowmagh, County Carlow, and enlisted into the 2nd Battalion, 87th Regiment on 6 November 1811, aged 27. He was discharged at Plymouth on 24 October 1814, in consequence of having received a wound in the left hand at Orthes. He was still alive in October 1872 when he was recommended to apply to the Governors of Kilmainham Hospital for admission.
