James Tulloch was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in the Gorakhpur Light Horse on 2 August 1890. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 30 September 1892 and to Captain on 4 May 1894. Following an amalgamation of units in 1904, Captain Tulloch served in the Gorakhpur Squadron of the United Provinces Light Horse. He was awarded the Indian Volunteer Forces Officers’ Decoration in the Gazette of India of 7 May 1904. In civil life he was the Manager of the Lehra Indigo Concession. With some copied research.
