South Andaman Volunteer Rifles

Vigor was resident at Port Blair in the South Andaman Islands for a number of years, Thacker’s Indian Directory listing him as Assistant Overseer at the local jail from 1900, Secretary of the Settlement Library from 1904, and as Manager of the Supply and Transport Department from 1910 - he was also President of the South Andaman Club. Vigor was awarded his Indian Volunteer Force Long Service Medal in IAO 460 of 1 September 1913; sold with brief research.
