Thomas Franklin Pedley received his medical training at Guy’s Hospital and qualified as a M.R.C.S., Eng., in 1876, and in the same year became a L.S.A.; he gained his M.D. in Brussels, 1879. Going to Burma, he lived in Rangoon. There he was a member of the Burma Sanitary Board, Medical Officer at Dufferin Maternity Hospital, and Health Officer of the Rangoon Municipality, 1883-1900. Joining the Indian Volunteers, he became the Surgeon Major of the Rangoon Volunteer Artillery in 1880 and was promoted Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel in 1900. He was awarded the Volunteer Officers’ Decoration by the Gazette of India of 7 April 1899. During the Great War he was awarded the Kaisar-i-Hind 1st Class (Gazette of India 3 June 1915). Dr Pedley died at Bridge House, Rangoon on 13 June 1922. Sold with copied research.
