Poona Volunteer Rifles

Mawhood is listed in Thacker’s Indian Directory of 1902 as an Officiating 1st Assistant in the Mechanical Branch of the Small Arms Ammunition Factory at Kirkee, later editions listing him Foreman of the same establishment. He was awarded the Indian Volunteer Force Long Service Medal in GO 166 of 10 February 1899; sold with brief research.
