James Weir McKay was employed by the North-Western Cacher Tea Company, and he became Manager of the Kurkoorie Division. As a Serjeant in the Surma Valley Light Horse, he was awarded the Efficiency Medal (India) with Clasp, announced in I.A.O. 554 of September 1933. On 8 April 1936 he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the unit and was advanced to Lieutenant on 8 April 1939. Sold with copied research.
