Military Cross London Gazette 16 August 1917. ‘2nd Lt, R.G.A., Sec. Res.’ ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when forward observing officer, in establishing and maintaining communication, being under heavy fire for twenty-four hours

Stanley George Pick was born in Ipswich on 8 November 1892. He entered the Great War as a Private in the R.A.M.C. He was granted a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the R.G.A. Special Reserve on 20 January 1917 and was advanced to Lieutenant on 20 July 1918. He served in Gallipoli, August-December 1916; France, March-November 1917, and Italy, December 1917-February 1919. For his brave services he was awarded the Military Cross

After the War he resided in India, joining the railway service in August 1919. He became Chief Traffic Manager of the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway in May 1945. For his services he was awarded the O.B.E. in 1948. Whilst in India he served in the Auxiliary Forces, being appointed a Lieutenant in the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway Regiment on 1 October 1920. He was granted the honorary rank of Captain in 1928. He was awarded the Efficiency Decoration (India) by the Gazette of India of 27 February 1937. Sold with copied research.
