Henry Hedges enlisted in Ottawa on 30 April 1918. He served with the 2nd Depot Battalion Eastern Ontario Regiment and the 6th Reserve Battalion, in Canada and Great Britain until discharged on 3 July 1919. Hedges continued to serve after the Great War. As a Sergeant in the Governor General’s Foot Guards he was awarded the Efficiency Medal (Canada), this published in the Canada Gazette of 30 October 1943. With some copied research.
