Peloponnesos, Peloponnesos, Mantinea, Drachm, c. 370-360, Odysseos standing right, holding oar and spear, rev. altar of Poseidon surmounted by busts of the Dioskouroi left, 5.41g/5h (BMC 6; SNG Copenhagen 246; Traité III, 957). Porous and with minor ancient scuffs and scratches, otherwise about fine, reverse better, extremely rare (£2,000-2,500)

Provenance:
‘BCD’ Collection, LHS Auction 96 (Zurich), May 2006, lot 1476.

Said to have been found in north-west Greece. A note from ‘BCD’ states: ‘I hope it goes to a good home, where coins are appreciated for what they are and not for their condition alone’
