Sweden, Svenska Rallyt till Midnattssolen [Swedish Rally of the Midnight Sun], 1958, a plated plaque by Sporrong for the Kungl Automobilklubben, seagull and dolphins above racing driver at the wheel, named (Nils Magnus von Arbin), 77 x 57mm; Belgium, Universal Exposition of Arts and Photography, Courtrai, 1936, a bronze-gilt medal by M. Rau, 70mm; together with other European medals, in silver (2), base metal (8), by Caqué, Grandhomme, Ponscarme, Vauthier Galle, etc [12]. Several very fine (£60-80)

The Rally of the Midnight Sun, now known as the Swedish Rally and part of the World Rally Championship, was first held in 1950. Nils Magnus von Arbin (1910-85), husband of Dagmar, Countess Bernadotte of Wisborg, was a direct descendant of William the Conqueror
