Adolf Ignatz Mautner von Markhof (1801-89), proprietor of the St Marx brewery, Vienna. Leo Reinisch (1832-1919), Professor of Egyptology, Vienna. Carl Bosch (1874-1940), chemist, worked first at BASF before becoming one of the founders of IG Farben in 1925; he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1931
