Major Sir Coles John Child, Bt (1906-71), of Bromley Palace, Kent and Mortlake, London; Lord of the Manor of Bromley; ADC to the Governor-General of Canada, 1931-3; Lt Coldstream Guards, Reserve of Officers, Capt 1940, Major, 1941. Building on the skills he acquired during his time at Eton from 1919-25, Child won the Canadian Amateur Rackets singles and doubles titles in 1932 and 1933, and the doubles in 1934. Cdr D’Arcy Lambton (1908-54), at Eton 1921-7, then Magdalen College, Oxford; he lived in London and his death was reported in The Times, 31 December 1954
