20th Century, Royal Army Med[ical] Coll[ege] Prize in Pathology, the Tulloch Medal, 1906, a silver award by Spink, facing bust of Forbes Tulloch in military uniform, uganda at right, rev. robed seated figure of Hygeia flanked by serpents, edge named (Lieutenant M.G. de L’Isle Sturm, R.A.M.C., November 1927), 45mm (BDM V, 640). Extremely fine and toned, very rare (£50-70)

Dr Lt Forbes Tulloch, RAMC (†20 June 1906, aged 27), originally from Heddon-on-the-Wall, Northumberland, died from sleeping sickness while working in Uganda
