19th Century, Visit of Victoria and Albert to Lancaster, 1851, a white metal medal, unsigned, conjoined busts left, rev. legend, 31mm (W & E 650); Victoria, Golden Jubilee, 1887, Surbiton, a copper medal by T. Pinches, 38mm (W & E 2330); Lancaster Infirmary Opened by the Duke and Duchess of York, 1896, a white metal medal by Dowler, 38mm (W & E 1831.1); Lord Mais Elected Lord Mayor of London, 1972, a lead medal by D.F. Payne, 51mm; together with a collection of other medals for Royal events, 1822-1990 (135, some in silver) [139]. Varied state, many extremely fine, virtually no duplication and the basis for a good collection; housed in a modern 8-tray cabinet (£200-300)
