Sicily, Sicily, Syracuse, Tetradrachm, c. 450-440, charioteer driving walking quadriga right, holding kentron and reins, Nike flying above, crowning horses, rev. diademed head of Arethusa right with hair enclosed in sakkos, wearing pearl necklace with pendant, four dolphins swimming clockwise around, 17.41g/3h (Boehringer 698; SNG ANS 233). Porous surfaces, otherwise very fine, reverse better (£400-500)
