Stanley Cradock Harrison Clark, who was born in Graaf Renet, Cape Province in August 1904, was employed as a coach & wagon examiner in the Rhodesian Railways prior to his enlistment in January 1940. Appointed to the Southern Rhodesia Medical Corps, he was posted to Nairobi that June, serving at No. 6 General Hospital until returning to Umtali in the following year. Subsequently enrolled on the strength of the Union Defence Force (U.D.F.) in March 1943, he was attached to the 1st City Regiment and embarked for Egypt, but transferred to H.Q., 12th (South Africa) Motorised Brigade, in October 1944. Clark was discharged from the U.D.F. in July 1945 and from the Southern Rhodesia Forces in the following month; sold with copied service record which confirms his entitlement to the above described awards.
