Pair: Private E. W. Vear, Royal Fusiliers, killed in action, 28 February 1917

Edgar William Vear enlisted at Chelsea into the 1st/3rd County of London Yeomanry. Transferring to the 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 28 February 1917, aged 22 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. He was the son of Arthur Thomas and Annie Matilda Vear of 21 Bramerton Street, King’s Road, Chelsea, London. With slightly damaged card box of issue, forwarding slip and registered envelope addressed to his father.
